Vogue Inspired Wedding at Hotel ZaZa

February 27, 2021, Jonie and Bailey tied the knot in an elegant ceremony at Hotel ZaZa. The couple met at Texas Tech years ago, and it came full circle when Bailey proposed there in November of 2019. Then the wedding planning began. The couple started working with Lauren Chumbley to help their special day come to life. When the streamers had been thrown, and the couple waved goodbye to their guests, Lauren said that her favorite part about working with this couple was becoming friends with them. “They were amazing. It was so fun to be around them and help create their big day.”

The day began with Jonie and her bridesmaids waking up at Hotel ZaZa Austin and beginning their hair and makeup by LoLa beauty. Jonie went for a natural and elegant look, giving off an air of elegance and beauty. Jonie looked absolutely regal in this shot by Whit McGuire Photography.

Their love is definitely a “The Notebook” kind of love. Lauren noticed when working with them and on their special day that they were focused on marriage beyond the wedding day. Jonie knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that Bailey was the one for her. She wrote THE most romantic letter to him that day, and he to her, and they read them to each other right after they did their first look. This intimate and special moment between the couple brought both laughter and tears and exuded love.

Can we also take a moment for the dress! Jonie is a queen in her Sara Seven Florence gown. I think you can say that photographer Whit McGuire Photography achieved Jonie’s vision of "editorial, sexy and beautiful" photos.

And you can’t forget to mention her Badgley Mischka shoes and Alexandra Grecco veil. Talk about a moment!

And around here, we don't forget the groom. This is what we call a black (bow)tie affair. These suits from Black Tux give off a James Bond vibe that we love!

I mean, someone put them on the cover of Vogue right this second!!! With her Native Bloom bridal bouquet in hand as she crossed Austin streets, this couple was a traffic-stopper.

I mean, the way they look at each other makes our hearts melt.

When asked to describe their evening at Hotel ZaZa, their lead planner Lauren Chumbley said, “Jonie originally wanted to get married in Scottsdale at a beautiful desert resort. Her vision originally had us looking at a 100% outdoor venue with similar vibes to a luxury resort. But based on what she told me she wanted for her vibes (modern, clean, elegant), I didn't think that was the right spot for her. It just so happened to thunderstorm RIGHT when we got to the outdoor venue for a tour, which helped her realize that if she went with ZaZa, she wouldn't have to worry about a rain plan. It was great that, as her planner, I was able to give her all the tools that she need to make a decision but that she ended up going with a venue that fit her perfectly, which was never on her radar before we met!”

Cue the kiss! The couple then retreated down the aisle to beautiful string music by Terra Vista Strings. Premiere Events Rentals created the perfect backdrop for the couple's first kiss as husband and wife!

The couple then danced the night away to the phenomenal Cap City Band, who went above and beyond with their set!

YUM! A little sugar break from dancing with this DELICIOUS cake by Simon Lee Bakery. This cake was complete with clean lines and Native Bloom florals, making it the perfect modern treat!

These detail shots by Whit McGuire Photography are everything as they capture the essence of the romantic evening. The Native Bloom florals and the candles brought the room together. The decor created a comfortable and warm atmosphere. The seating chart by Scripted Ever After against the exposed brick wall made it look like the seating assignments were printed onto the wall, creating a timeless and forever feel!

As the evening came to a close, the couple ended the evening with a unique favor. Jonie fell in love with Hotel Zaza so much that she reached out to the manufacturer who created the hotel lobby’s scent for approval and got it bottled through the hotel and gave it out as favors to everyone. She wanted people to remember this classy evening, and so she sent a piece of it home with everyone. You know this was captured beautifully on video by North Mark Films.

Congratulations to Jonie and Bailey on their beautiful wedding and marriage! Thank you for allowing us here at Eclipse Event Co. to be a part of your big day; it was our honor!
