Ashley+Clay A Texas Wedding On A Hot Summers Day
Friday July 20th 2018 was the hottest day in the Texas Hill Country with temperatures hitting 107 degrees. But when you are getting married at one of the most beautiful venues in Texas you barely even notice the heat.
Ashley and Clay said I do at Camp Lucy’s stunning Sacred Oaks. Ashley and Clay are one of those couples who just look like they were meant to be together. Both had the sweetest and mellowest personalities and had the kindest guests to take part in such a special day.
Before the ceremony began Whim Catering and Whim floral were working so hard in outrageous heat to make the space beautiful for Ashley and Clay. The reception was gorgeous and the colors chosen couldn't have been more perfect for a summer wedding. All the tables switched off between either a beautiful flower centerpiece with light pink and peach florals with lots of greenery or a reef made with greenery with candle sticks in gold stands in the center. Both centerpieces on a crisp and clean ivory linen with little tea candles in gold votives surrounding the centerpieces. The tables were also set with plates and silverware and one of Whim Rentals upgraded shimmer gold napkins.
For ceremony the bride and groom really focused on just creating a gorgeous arbor. Sacred Oaks ceremony is so gorgeous on it’s own with the lights hanging from the trees and the brick and cobblestone that you really don't need much. But Whim Florists killed the space and ended up creating a gorgeous arbor the was definitely the main vocal point in the space. The arbor at Sacred Oaks was covered in lots of greenery and on one side was filled with loads of a pinky peach roses of various sizes.
As guests started to arrive for the 6:30pm ceremony they all made their way to the welcome table where they were greeted with Ashleys breathtaking wedding portrait taken by the talented Honey Gem Creative Photography. Guests also were able to take pictures on the cute polaroid camera where they put their picture into the guestbook next to a short message to the bride and groom so Ashley and Clay could have those memories forever.
After a very sweet ceremony a happy bride and groom went straight to the bell at Sacred Oaks to officially announce their marriage! Guests eventually made their way to cocktail hour while Clay and Ashley took the most beautiful photos and were blessed with the best sunset I have ever seen at Sacred Oaks.
Once it was time for dinner the bridal party were all announced into dinner where they made their way to a large bridal party table in the middle of the room. For the next hour guests laughed and ate until it was time for Clay and Ashley to have their first dance. Following their first dance the bride and her grandfather had a dance and the groom and his mom had their dance. After all the dances the dance floor was officially open for all.
The guests danced all the way until it was time for cake! Cake was provided by Sweet Treats bakery and was was a 3 tier classic white cake with vanilla frosting with bunches of light pink roses on each tier. Surrounding the cake were tons of little mini pies also provided by Sweet Treats. Guests had the option to choose between mini chocolate, pecan, and lemon pies! All the desserts were a huge hit and left little behind.
As the night wrapped up, the bride tossed her bouquet, the groom tossed the garter, and the only thing left was to send off the happy newlyweds. Ashley and Clay ran threw their guests as they threw water soluble confetti at them and made their way to their car to spend the night at the romantic Lucy's Cottage.
