Melanie and Frank: Chinese American Fusion at Villa Antonia

Melanie and Frank had a beautiful September wedding at Austin's renowned Villa Antonia. The couple really wanted an emphasis on the Chinese American fusion of their cultures and Melanie’s vision did not disappoint! Many of the traditional Chinese customs were incorporated into the evening, including a bow ceremony, traditional red gift envelopes, and traditional date favors.

Melanie really wanted patterns, textures, and tons of color for her wedding. She did not want a stuffy monochromatic luck whatsoever! Mancino iron provided the iron arch and rose gold lanterns that lined the perfectly bright and fun aisle, designed and executed flawlessly by Stems floral design. The bright hues were seriously breathtaking! Blooms of roses, smilax, dahlias, sweet peas, blue tweedia, and many other contributed to the overall look. Two other small fun details were the color-coordinating wax flowers that adorned the hair of each of the bridesmaids, and the fresh mint that filled out the boutonnieres, adding a vibrant and delicious scent to the floral for the men!

Austin’s Harpist Kristen Smith played live as the couple had their ceremony, which was interesting in its own right because it was so windy that day! The bride's gorgeous cathedral length veil really flowed and made its presence known! Brio Photography and FG Filmhouse were there to capture every sweet and special moment, including the couple's dog, who served as the unofficial ring bearer, and walked the groom down the aisle. One of the sweetest moments was just as the ceremony was about to begin, he let out a howl, as if to show his approval!

The bride wore a pale blush Essence of Australia gown, and her hair and makeup were flawlessly done by Flair Austin beauty. The bridesmaids outfits were hand chosen by the bride herself, and consisted of varying shades and different floral patterns, topped off with a beautiful ivory lace crop top. Unique and quirky bridesmaids looks at their finest! The bride gifted her girls with Kendra Scott Jewelry; an Austin staple!

Cocktail Hour was kicked off with appetizers and drinks by Royal Fig Catering, who helped incorporate traditional Chinese tea into another one of the many special details the bride provided for her guests. The family-style menu consisted of Whole Roasted Chicken with Red Pepper Romesco Sauce, Shiner Bock-Braised Short Ribs with Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans with Tomato Jam & Fried Onion, and Roasted Acorn Squash with Brown Sugar. It was to die for!

The beautiful jewel tone linens were provided by Monarch Event Rentals, and really popped against the rolling hills of the Austin Hill Country. Stems Floral provided some amazing lounge furniture, velvet throw pillows, and some funky geometric centerpieces to break up the outdoor dining space.

Coco Paloma made the most delicious and gorgeous bridal cake, complete with hand painted floral, and gold leaf. The groom's cake was a “Spur-eo” which was an Oreo with the spurs logo incorporated.

Having met as baristas at Starbucks several years prior, the couple chose to give their guests different varieties of Starbucks brew to take home as a nod to nostalgia.

Oh Happy Day Photobooth had guests capturing the evening in the best way, as they danced to the beats of Texas Pro DJ. The evening was capped off by their getaway in an old vintage car, provided by 4 Leaf Limo. It was an evening to remember!
