Rachel and Ben: Elegant Traditional Jewish Wedding
Former Iowa State pitcher Rachel performed an effortless transition from cleats to classy
bride for her and Ben's beautiful wedding reception at the Texas Women's Federation in
Austin.
The University of Texas Football game (taking place less than two miles from the ceremony
and reception) almost threw off the start time of there ceremony, but thanks to the efforts of
Uptown Valet in getting everyone through Game Day traffic, the bridal party and couple ended
walking down the aisle primped and on time!
There was even time during the tisch for the
bride's married family member's to give heartfelt advise from their years of marriage as well
as a mini-dance party with Rachel and her Mom before she walked down the aisle!
Rachel chose Emerald dresses for her bridesmaids and left the rest of the coloring to mint
greens and whites throughout the reception. Ben and his groomsmen were dapper in their
black suits. The desired look was vintage glam with sage, pinks and gold accents. The
bridesmaids though brought in a deep emerald green that really elevated the look of the
event.
Vintage was also incorporated into Rachel's bouquet, which was her grandmother's actual
wedding bouquet with greenery added around the perimeter by the florist.
Disch Events did an amazing job dressing up the Chuppah from Mancino Ironworks with
bunches of white and peach hydrangeas. The top of the chuppah was also used for Ben's
sister's wedding and had been his family for decades. The ceremony was an interfaith
celebration with the Groom's Family's Rabbi and the Bride's Grandfather officiating.
The room was flipped during cocktail hour to make room for a 190 person seated dinner. Ivory
and Blue dupioni linens helped create an elegant but still fresh look. Greenery was used
throughout with various eucalyptus accented in white floral.
While the overall look was classic, dessert was anything but traditional. The couple had an
anti-wedding cake stance so they brought in assorted Tiny Pies with a table decorated by
Kitsch Event Styling. Guests also got to graze on warm cookie and ice cream sandwiches
from Moojo.
Awake Photography did an amazing job capturing the images and Marty from Rabid Robot
Studios edited together a poignant and fun wedding video.
Guests enjoyed dancing to Groove Knights, especially the Hora where additional space was
made for the dance floor since there was 100% participation!
All the ladies, including Rachel, Bridesmaids and mothers of the Bride and Groom, looked
even more beautiful thanks to All Dolled Up Hair and Make Up. As a special tribute to all of
them, Rachel had customized an eight minute mashup for her bouquet toss song. It included
a song that was special to her and each bridesmaid.
The sparkler exit culminated in a Pedicab Sendoff to after party in the heart of Downtown
Austin. The newlyweds enjoyed their Honeymoon (and recovered from their wedding) the
next week while tanning on the beaches of Hawaii.
