Indian Wedding Styled Shoot
India is a magical place with its rich temples, grandiose weddings, and vivid use of color. Some even claim it would take a lifetime to discover all the country has to offer. On any given day India is vibrant –even romantic—making it a mecca of inspiration, which is why the Eclipse team was so excited to take on an Indian Wedding styled shoot! That being said, no Indian wedding is ever complete without elaborate decorations. When coming up with ideas, the main goal was to stay traditional, as in keeping the color palette very bright, but steering away from the overwhelming amount of red mainly seen at Indian weddings and incorporating more blues, yellows, and pinks.
Lately, the trend at many Indian weddings is to have a combination of traditional and modern themes. When asked where she drew inspiration Eclipse Co-Owner Lauren Chumbley said, “the inspiration for me came from the Indian tradition of the Rangoli. A Rangoli is an art form in which patterns are created on the floor using colorful materials such as rice, flour, sand or flowers. The purpose of the Rangoli is not only to bring in colorful decor, but to also bring the couple good luck. At night, candles are also placed inside the Rangoli so guests can still enjoy the decorations.”
The styled shoot, which took place at Ma Maison, also drew inspiration from the intricate henna designs that covered model Monica Merha’s hands, along with pops of decadence found in the crystal scrolls and gold foil back. When asked what her favorite component of the photo shoot was Co-Owner Kristi DePew said, “my favorite component had to be beautiful mandap we designed and Disch Events brought to life with their stunning florals. The flowing gold vases with flowers spilling out were to die for! Our model really had beautiful traditional clothing and jewelry and I was just so in love with the entire photo shoot!”
All in all the purpose of this styled shoot was to showcase the beauty, culture, and intricate details that go into an Indian wedding and if you’re lucky enough to attend one be ready to be blown away!
