Catherine and Mike: Hedgehogs, and Pine Cones, and Dino's, Oh My!
There was not a single guest from Catherine and Mike's wedding that didn't leave without thinking they just attended one of the most unique weddings ever! From an initial glance, it wouldn't seem like an event with felt Pac Man, peach glitter, dinosaurs, hedgehogs, moss, maracas and Ninja Turtles would work together, but this one did!
Not only did the couple provide vintage arcade games, giant jenga, giant Connect Four and other lawn games for their guests, but they also provided a Candy Apple Bar and Petting Zoo complete with bunnies, hedgehogs and chinchillas!
The wedding took place at The Wildflower Barn in Driftwood, Texas, complete with fresh, lush grass that was planted the week before for their wedding.
Catherine, her bridesmaids and Mike's mom started out their day in a Hair and Makeup trailer from flAir Style Lounge.
Guests were immediately greeted with a beautiful ceremony featuring a stunning petal-strewn aisle with pinks in an ombré style. There were also gorgeous hanging lanterns and the couple’s new tree, which was featured in their ceremony as a way for them to plant their first tree as a married couple.
There were plenty of vintage elements in the wedding including the lanterns in the ceremony and on the reception tables, but also with the Bride's gorgeous lace dress and her Oxford Heels, I'm still fawning over these!
Dinner was provided by Pappas Catering. Backing up, guests were greeted visually by the ceremony set up, but once they stepped out of their cars, they could immediately take in the scent of fajita meat being grilled on site.
Centerpieces, the ceremony set up and Catherine's gorgeous hair piece were meticulously put together by the ladies from EPIC Event Design. Vintage Arcade Games as well as the Lawn Games were from Game Plan Entertainment. You know how I know Mike works for a video game company? When he and his groomsmen (who are co-workers at Blizzard Entertainment) don't let me know when one of the games isn't working, they opened the console themselves and fixed it.
No guest left hungry as there were more dessert options than most weddings. The Bride's cake was a delicious white chocolate raspberry and tres leches from Michelle's Patisserie. The groom's cake was Mike's favorite carrot cake from HEB along with cream puffs from HEB as well. Macaroons came from Mac's Homemade Macarons. Finally, the guests were treated to a Candy Apple Bar from The Cupcake Bar.
In between the dancing from music provided by White Label DJs, guests also got to pet and fawn over adorable baby animals from Tiny Tails to You with their “Hoppy Hour.”
Pictures were captured wonderfully by Brio Photography and Lauren Maria Films made a wonderful video of the wedding featuring her first drone shots! We'd also like to thank Brio for referring Catherine to us, we had such a great time working with her!
All rentals came from Premiere Events, except for the charges, which Catherine collected on her own. We loved the mint charges combined with the white textured plates and copper forks and knives.
The wedding ceremony was performed by Katrina Baecht with The Spoken Heart, who covered the fact that the couple met on OK Cupid with a 99% compatibility rating. Score one for OK Cupid! That's pretty darn accurate!
Catherine and Mike enjoyed a beautiful sparkler send off into their limo from 4 Leaf Limo then headed off the Pacific Northwest for their honeymoon.
Just because Catherine and Mike's weddings over, doesn't mean we won't see more from her! She's officially joining our Brunch club in good ol' Round Rock, just as soon as she returns from her honeymoon!
